Successful Grant Award Win Represented by Fitting Puzzle Pieces and Shaking Figures

Below are some recent federal and foundation grant award announcements, including energy, environmental, and tribal grants. It’s always wise to look over awardee lists to get a sense of grantor priorities. So, here we go:

  • The CASA Grants Program provides funding to state organizations and local programs whose court-appointed special advocates help abused and neglected children find safe, permanent homes. An overview of the program can be found here. For the 2013 cycle, the program awarded 132 grants ranging from $10,000 to $40,000 each.
  • The U.S. Department of the Interior’s Tribal Energy Development Capacity (TEDC) grant program recently released their award list, with more than $700,000 in grants for tribal energy efforts, including reviews of policies and energy plans, development of energy goals, and building management capacity.
  • The U.S. Energy Department announced the selection of three pioneering Offshore Wind Advanced Technology Demonstration Projects, to receive up to $47 million each over the next four years to deploy innovative, grid-connected systems in federal and state waters by 2017. Read more about these projects.
  • The National Arts and Humanities Youth Program released a list of its 70 award recipients for 2014. Read more in the press release.
  • The Corporation for National and Community Service (CNCS) announced $205 million for 288 grants to put AmeriCorps members on the ground to tackle critical challenges in communities across the U.S., as well as $115 million in formula funding to governor-appointed state service commissions. The announcement can be found here.
  • The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service’s Tribal Wildlife Grants (TWG) were recently announced, with awards going to 15 states and totaling $4.6 million.
  • The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service announced more than $14 million in Boating Infrastructure Grant (BIG) program competitive grants to ten states and the District of Columbia. The program will also provide approximately $2.48 million to 27 states, commonwealths, and territories that match smaller, noncompetitive grants dedicated to boating infrastructure projects.
  • The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency announced the selection of 18 grantees for the award of approximately $3.6 million through the Environmental Workforce Development and Job Training (EWDJT) grant program.
  • The U.S. Department of Agriculture announced funding to help reduce energy costs in rural areas. Totaling nearly $11 million, grants through the Assistance to High Energy Cost Rural Communities program will assist residents and business owners to finance energy efficiency and power generation improvements that will deliver energy cost-effectively.
  • The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency announced P3 awards for environmental solutions from teams at U.S. universities. Each award-winning team is recommended for a grant of up to $90,000 to further develop their design, apply it to real world situations, and bring it to the marketplace. Read more.
