NACo Conference This Weekend

by Timothy Tiernan on July 19, 2016
Find me on:

We're excited to share this reminder: The 2016 NACo Annual Conference and Exposition begins this Friday in Long Beach, California. If you're attending, be sure to check out the packed schedule. Many of the conference topics center on themes counties have long struggled with, including transportation and infrastructure, and the opioid and heroin crisis. Other topics include:

  • Economic development
  • Criminal justice and mental health reform
  • Cybersecurity
  • Technology summits
  • Public-private partnerships (P3)
  • Local arts programming

Some of the notable speakers include NBA champion, author, and filmmaker Kareem Abdul-Jabbar; record-breaking long-distance swimmer Diana Nyad; ESRI co-founder and president Jack Dangermond; and Pulitzer-Prize-winning historian Jon Meacham.

Last, stop by for a chat at booth #334, where we'll be discussing county issues.
