Farmers Market Promotion Program

Agency: Department of Agriculture
Application Timeline: 8 weeks

The purpose of the FMPP is to increase domestic consumption of, and access to, locally and regionally produced agricultural products, and to develop new market opportunities for farm and ranch operations serving local markets by developing, improving, expanding, and providing outreach, training, and technical assistance to, or assisting in the development, improvement, and expansion of, domestic farmers markets, roadside stands, community-supported agriculture programs, agritourism activities, and other direct producer-to-consumer market opportunities. 

Local Food Promotion Program

Agency: Department of Agriculture
Application Timeline: 8 weeks

The LFPP offers grant funds with a 25 percent match to support the development and expansion of local and regional food business enterprises to increase domestic consumption of, and access to, locally and regionally produced agricultural products, and to develop new market opportunties for farm and ranch operations serving local markets. There are two types of project applications are accepted under LFPP-planning grants and implementation grants.

Community Connect Program

Agency: Department of Agriculture
Application Timeline: 8 weeks

The Community Connect Program helps rural communities extend access where broadband service is least likely to be commercially available, but where it can make a tremendous difference in the quality of life for people and businesses. The projects funded by these grants help rural residents tap into the enormous potential of the Internet for jobs, education, health care, public safety and community development.

Fire Prevention and Safety

Agency: Department of Homeland Security, Federal Emergency Management Agency
Application Timeline: 4 months

The FP&S program supports projects designed to reach high-risk target groups and mitigate the incidence of death and injuries caused by fire and fire-related hazards. Eligible project categories supported through this component include the following: 1) general education or awareness; 2) code enforcement or awareness; 3) fire and arson investigation; 4) national, state, or regional programs and studies. Eligible applicants include fire departments; and national, regional, state, local, Native American tribal, and nonprofit organizations that are recognized for their experience and expertise in fire prevention and safety programs and activities.
