4 Multi-Million-Dollar Grant Programs from the Department of Labor

This blog post highlights four major multi-million-dollar employment-related grant programs that can assist in your community. 1. Trade Adjustment Assistance Community College and Career Training (TAACCCT), in Grants Network as US10193.

What for?  To support the expansion and improvement of education and career training programs for workers eligible for training under the Trade Adjustment Assistance (TAA) for Workers program.

How much funding? $500 million (est.)

How many awards? Undetermined.

Due when?  May 24, 2012.

2. Senior Community Service Employment Program National Grants, in Grants Network as US1986.

What for?  To support projects that create part-time work training opportunities for unemployed workers ages 55 and older looking to enter or re-enter the workforce.

How much funding? $346 million (est.)

How many awards? 10-20.

Due when?  May 10, 2012.

3. Indian and Native American Employment and Training Program, in Grants Network as US1424A (adult program) and US1424B (youth program).

What for? To provide job training to Native Americans facing barriers to employment.

How much funding? $60 million (est.) for youth and adult components (mostly continuation funds; some competitive).

How many awards? Undetermined.

Due when?  April 18, 2012.

4. YouthBuild, in Grants Network as US0298.

What for? To provide education and employment skills to disadvantaged youth.

How much funding? $75 million (est.)

How many awards? 75 (est.)

Due when? May 8, 2012.
